The Gulf Islands Families Together Society (GIFTS) is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities and their families by providing a unique, participant-centered support model. 

 

Unlike traditional program-based approaches, GIFTS ensures that participants and their families retain full control over their personal support structures, fostering independence, dignity, and self-determination.

GIFTS serves as a safe and inclusive space—both physically and virtually—where individuals can build a customized network of support tailored to their unique needs and aspirations.

We are currently committed to

• Supporting participants and their families in the transition from high school into adulthood by providing hope, advocacy, and individualized guidance.

• Maintaining an the most innovative, participant-driven approach to support in British Columbia.

• Act as a center of excellence in connecting people with disabilities to meaningful employment opportunities and ensuring successful, inclusive workplaces.

 

And as we grow, we aspire to

• Providing specialized training for staff dedicated to supporting people with disabilities.

• Assisting families in planning for long-term housing and end-of-life support to ensure security and continuity of care.

 

 

Through these commitments, GIFTS strives to create a future where individuals with disabilities can thrive with autonomy, respect, and community support.
